Blox Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Quick Start Guide
A simple step-by-step guide for setting up and using MFA in Blox
What MFA is
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your Blox account. After
entering your email and password, you will also enter a one-time code from an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
When you will see MFA
- If your organisation has MFA enforced, Blox will ask you to set it up the next time you sign in.
- If MFA is not required for your organisation, your normal login flow will stay the same.
Before you begin
- Install an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
- Make sure you can sign in to Blox with your email and password.
- Keep your phone with you during setup.
First-time MFA setup
- Sign in to Blox with your email address and password.
- If MFA is required for your organisation, you will be taken to the MFA setup screen.
- Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code shown in Blox. If needed, you can also enter the setup key manually.
- Your authenticator app will generate a 6-digit code.
- Enter that code in Blox to verify setup.
- Once the code is verified, MFA is enabled for your account and you can continue into Blox.
What happens next: After setup is complete, you will use your authenticator code each time you sign in.
How to sign in after MFA is enabled
- Enter your email address and password as usual.
- When prompted, open your authenticator app.
- Enter the current 6-digit code shown in the app.
- If the code is correct, you will be signed in.
Common messages you may see
- Invalid code – The code entered is incorrect. Wait for the app to generate a new code and try again.
- Expired code – The code has timed out. Use the latest code currently shown in your authenticator app.
- MFA required but not configured – Your organisation requires MFA and setup must be completed before access is granted.
Tips for a smooth setup
- Enter the code exactly as shown in your authenticator app.
- Authenticator codes refresh every few seconds, so use the newest code if one expires.
- If you close setup before verification is complete, sign in again and finish the MFA steps.
- If you change or lose your phone, contact your Blox administrator or support team for help.
