Blox Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Quick Start Guide

A simple step-by-step guide for setting up and using MFA in Blox

What is MFA

After entering your email address and password, you will also be asked to enter a one-time verification code from an authenticator app, such as:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator

This helps protect your account even if your password is compromised.

MFA Availability

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is available for customers on the Scale and Ultimate Blox plans.

To enable MFA for your organisation, please contact the Blox Support team. Once enabled, MFA becomes mandatory for all users in your organisation.

After MFA is enforced:

  • All users will be required to complete MFA setup at their next login.
  • Users will not be able to access Blox until MFA setup is completed successfully.

When you will see MFA

  • If your organisation has MFA enforced, Blox will ask you to set it up the next time you sign in.
  • If MFA is not required for your organisation, your normal login flow will stay the same.

Before You Begin

Before starting MFA setup, please make sure:

  • You have installed an authenticator app on your phone.
  • You can successfully sign in to Blox using your email address and password.
  • Your password meets the minimum Blox password policy requirements.
  • You have your phone available during setup.

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator

Password Policy Requirements

Your Blox password must contain:

  • Minimum length: 8 characters
  • At least one uppercase letter
  • At least one lowercase letter
  • At least one number
  • At least one symbol or special character

First-Time MFA Setup

  1. Sign in to Blox using your email address and password.

If MFA is required for your organisation, you will be taken to the MFA setup screen.

Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code displayed in Blox.

    • If needed, you can manually enter the setup key instead.
  2. Your authenticator app will generate a 6-digit verification code.
  3. Enter the code into Blox to verify setup.
  4. Once verified, MFA will be enabled for your account and you can continue into Blox.

What Happens Next?

After setup is complete, you will be asked for an authenticator code each time you sign in to Blox.

How to sign in after MFA is enabled

  • Enter your email address and password as usual.
  • When prompted, open your authenticator app.
  • Enter the current 6-digit code shown in the app.
  • If the code is correct, you will be signed in.

Common messages you may see

  • Invalid code – The code entered is incorrect. Wait for the app to generate a new code and try again.
  • Expired code – The code has timed out. Use the latest code currently shown in your authenticator app.
  • MFA required but not configured – Your organisation requires MFA and setup must be completed before access is granted.

Tips for a smooth setup

  • Enter the code exactly as shown in your authenticator app.
  • Authenticator codes refresh every few seconds, so use the newest code if one expires.
  • If you close setup before verification is complete, sign in again and finish the MFA steps.
  • If you change or lose your phone, contact your Blox administrator or support team for help.

Frequently asked questions

  • Do I need MFA if my organisation does not enforce it?

No. If MFA is not enabled for your organisation, your existing login flow remains unchanged.

  • Will MFA affect my normal Blox access?

Only during sign-in. Once you verify successfully, you can use Blox as normal.
