Table Dashboard Instruments: A User Guide
The Table Instrument is a straightforward and powerful way to display your financial data in a familiar, grid-based format on your dashboard. This guide will walk you through how to create a table, select your data, format it for readability, and interact with the time roll-up features once it's on your dashboard.
1. Creating the Table Instrument
Before you can define your data, you need to launch the instrument setup from your main dashboard view.
- Navigate and Create: Go to your Dashboard page. Look to the top right corner of the dashboard area.
- Select the Tool: Click the "Create" button and choose "Table" from the dropdown menu to open a new setup window.

2. Defining Your Title and Indicators
Once the setup window is open, you will need to name your table and select the specific rows of data you want to display.
- Add a Title: In the "Title" text box located on the right-hand panel, enter a descriptive name for your instrument (e.g., "Profit & Loss").

- Select Indicators: Click the + (Plus) icon next to "Indicators". A search and selection menu will appear. Check the boxes next to the specific line items you want to include in your table (like Sales, Gross Profit, EBITDA, etc.). Once you have made your selections, click Apply.

- Note: If the block from which you are selecting indicators uses dimensions, make sure to select the same dimension for all indicators so you can properly view the values for all dimension items.

3. Configuring Time Windows and Formatting
Next, determine the timeframe for your data and customize the visual appearance of your rows to make the table easy to read.
- Adjust the Time Window: Use the "Time window" dropdown menu on the right panel to define the span of data shown. You can select specific options like "Year to Date" or leave it as "Auto from dashboard" to have it respond dynamically to the page's global filters.

- Apply Formatting: To highlight specific data, click on any indicator name in the list on the right (e.g., "Net Profit"). This reveals formatting options at the bottom of the panel. You can adjust text styles (like Bold or Italics), cell colors, text colors, and indentation for that specific row.

- Save the Table: Once you are satisfied with your data preview and styling, click the Save button at the bottom right corner to add the Table instrument to your dashboard.
4. Navigating the Table on Your Dashboard
Once added to the dashboard, the Table instrument includes quick toggles that allow you to change how your data is aggregated over time without needing to edit the instrument itself.
- View Monthly Data: Look at the top right corner of your new table widget. The letters M Q Y represent different time groupings. Clicking M displays your data in detailed monthly columns.
- Toggle to Quarterly: Click the Q to instantly roll up your data into quarterly columns (e.g., Q1, Q2), making it easier to spot mid-term trends.
- Toggle to Yearly: Click the Y to consolidate your data into high-level annual columns (e.g., FY25, FY26) for a broad overview of your financial performance.

Note: Click the Date/Time preset dropdown at the top of the dashboard to instantly change the time window being analyzed across the instrument (e.g., shifting from "Current Month" to "This Financial Year").
